Client Policy

License Requirements : Client will not accept any travelers with previous license hits, regardless of the date of occurrence, nature of the issue, or current status of the license.

Do not submit travelers with any known license hits.

Unit Details

Unit Type : Med / Tele – Neuro Focus

# of Beds : 30

Primary Patient Population : Stroke and seizure patients

Patient Types / Common Diagnoses

Post-ictal seizure patients

New stroke patients requiring q2h neuro checks

s / p TPA / TNK administration

s / p craniectomies, burr holes

Elective VEEG patients (seizure induction on unit)

Cardiac monitoring and drips (amiodarone, diltiazem)

s / p cardiac caths, pacemaker / ICD placement, ablations

IVIG, plasmapheresis treatments

Overflow Med / Surg patients as needed

Certifications & Competencies

Required : BLS, NIHSS

Education : 8 hours of neuro-specific education annually

Skills : Strong EKG interpretation; must be proficient in identifying and managing cardiac arrhythmias

Schedule & Expectations

Hours per week : 36 (guaranteed)

Call : As needed

Weekends : Required in rotation

Holidays : Required in rotation
