JOB SUMMARY

The Laboratory Technician position is designed to train new technicians on one of the four analytical aisles in the QC laboratory. In this role, the technician will prepare process and finished product samples, perform analytical testing using instrumental and wet chemistry procedures, and record results using computerized data systems. The position requires successful completion of training on one aisle prior to promotion to Laboratory Technician I. This role is ideal for candidates with a science background or experience in fast-paced environments, who can multitask and demonstrate long-term commitment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete plant and laboratory safety orientations and comply with all safety policies.
  • Work safely to prevent injuries and immediately address hazards, unsafe equipment, or unsafe acts.
  • Report all accidents, injuries, and near misses to supervision promptly.
  • Perform at least one Laboratory Safety Audit per month.
  • Complete a minimum of three safety engagements each month.
  • Prepare samples and perform analytical testing using laboratory instrumentation (HPLC, GC, IC) and wet chemistry methods.
  • Record and document test results using computerized data systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in math skills to perform calculations associated with lab testing.
  • Demonstrate computer skills for data entry and analysis.
  • Accept instruction, coaching, and constructive feedback as part of continuous improvement.
  • Participate in certification process within 60–90 days of starting work on an aisle.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Quality Department Management.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work within the time demands of a 24 / 7 / 365 operation.
  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with willingness to accept coaching and feedback.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work flexible schedules as needed.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in science (schooling or work experience).
  • Completion of a college science laboratory course.
  • Familiarity with cGMP, FDA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Prior laboratory experience (academic or professional).
  • Experience with laboratory instrumentation (HPLC, GC, IC).
  • Demonstrated history of long-term employment or role stability.
