Superintendent (Sonoma)

My firm has been retained by a nationally recognized general contractor to identify an accomplished Construction Superintendent for their expanding life science portfolio in the San Francisco Bay Area. This is a strategic leadership position overseeing laboratory and life science construction projects valued at $50 million and above.

The selected candidate will join an established organization with a strong market presence in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors, managing technically sophisticated projects for Fortune 500 companies and innovative research institutions.

Position Overview

This Superintendent role represents a significant career opportunity within one of the region's most active life science construction markets. The position involves direct oversight of large-scale laboratory construction projects, including cGMP manufacturing facilities, research and development laboratories, vivarium construction, and biosafety level containment environments.

The organization has secured a substantial project pipeline extending through 2027, providing exceptional job security and long-term growth potential. Recent awards include several high-profile biotech campus developments and pharmaceutical manufacturing expansions throughout the Peninsula and and South Bay.

Required Experience

• Minimum 10 years of construction superintendent experience
• At least 5 years of specialized experience in laboratory, life science, pharmaceutical, or healthcare construction
• Demonstrated success managing projects valued at $50 million or greater
• Direct experience with cleanroom construction, laboratory fit-out projects, and complex MEP coordination
• Familiarity with San Francisco Bay Area construction market, jurisdictional requirements, and labor conditions strongly preferred
