Director, Data
Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC, headquartered in Dallas, is a regulated electricity transmission and distribution business that uses superior asset management skills to provide reliable electricity delivery to consumers. Oncor (together with its subsidiaries) operates the largest transmission and distribution system in Texas, delivering power to nearly 4 million homes and businesses and operating more than 143,000 miles of transmission and distribution lines in Texas.
The Director, Data at Oncor is responsible for leading Oncor's Data team, which includes responsibility for overseeing the organization's data strategy, including data movement, data governance, data security and protection, data quality, data availability, Database Administrators (DBAs), and the associated 24 / 7 operations, planning and execution of the data lifecycle at Oncor. You'll manage technology, process, and staffing to ensure reliable and timely processing of data through systems, to the market and third-party partners when and where required.
This position will lead the work responsible for enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization and leverages data as a strategic asset to achieve Oncor's goals.
Key roles and responsibilities include overseeing the end-to-end management and optimization of data processes, ensuring that data is efficiently and effectively collected, processed, stored, secured and made available for analysis and decision-making. You'll also be responsible for annual budgeting and long-term roadmap planning for data growth, technology currency and meeting strategic goals.
Skills required include strong leadership, people management, time management, and organizational skills. You'll also need strong collaboration and partnering skills, capital expense and operational expense financial management, and the ability to articulate complex system issues in both public and private forums and work with various stakeholders, both internally and external.
Education and experience required include a high school diploma, GED or equivalent, 8+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, data management, and risk management with a proven record of success in leading data governance programs in complex organizations, and 5+ years of management and / or supervisory experience leading high performing teams.
