Job Title : System Administrator Status : Full-time

Reports to : Senior IT Manager Work Schedule : Normal Operational Hours

Compensation : $63,000 to $118,500

This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends on applicants credentials.

About the Role

We're seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to join our IT team and ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our infrastructure and end-user systems. This role blends server and systems administration, offering a dynamic environment where you'll manage virtualization platforms, endpoint tools, backups, and user accounts - all while helping employees stay productive with dependable technology.

Summary of duties and responsibilities :

  • Administer physical and virtual servers, including provisioning and maintaining VMware vSphere environments.
  • Monitor system performance, apply updates, and ensure system security and reliability.
  • Manage backup and disaster recovery solutions using Veeam, including restore operations.
  • Use tools like Intune, PDQ, Automate, and PowerShell to deploy software, enforce security policies, and automate workflows.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and application issues across servers and workstations.
  • Maintain Active Directory accounts, security groups, and access permissions.
  • Document systems, configurations, and processes for team knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate on IT projects and provide backup support for network and firewall changes.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices through training and community engagement.
  • Handle escalated tickets from Tier 1 Helpdesk support.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field - or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in systems or server administration.
  • Strong expertise in Windows Server and workstation environments (Linux experience a plus).
  • Hands-on experience with VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, DFS, DNS, DHCP, and TCP / IP networking.
  • Experience with endpoint management and automation tools (Intune, PDQ, Automate, PowerShell).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS is a plus.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
