• Ability to perform CIWA / COWS assessments
• Proficient in conducting UAs
• Strong skills in setting and maintaining firm empathic boundaries

Description :

This position is for a Registered Nurse in a psychiatric setting.

The role involves working in an inpatient substance abuse treatment facility for individuals aged 18 and older.

Candidates must have the ability to perform Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment (CIWA) and Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale (COWS) assessments.

The Registered Nurse will also be responsible for conducting Urinalysis (UA) tests.

It is critical for the nurse to set and hold firm empathic boundaries to support patient care.

On the night shift, the nurse will work with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 50.

During the hours from 7 PM to 11 PM, there will be 2-3 Behavioral Health Assistants (BHA) on shift.

From 11 PM to 7 AM, there will be 1 BHA on shift.

All patients are voluntarily admitted, and there are no restraints used.

Administration and physicians are available on-call at all times.

The dress code for the position is scrubs.

Visiting hours for family and friends are designated for Sundays from 1 PM to 4 PM.
