About The Position

Job Title : Respiratory Therapist - NICU

Profession : Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Specialty : RRT-NICU

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Night

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Minimum 2 years in NICU / PICU

License : New Mexico License (can pend at the time of submission)

Certifications : RRT, BLS, ACLS, NRP

Must-Have :

Experience in NICU and Pediatric Critical Care.

Ability to float to adult units as needed.

No local candidates within a 75-mile radius.

COVID vaccination required with exemptions accepted.

Description :

This position involves working in a Level I Trauma, Teaching, Children’s Hospital.

The average daily census for the unit is 6-10 vents.

No RQI certifications accepted.

Preferred candidates will have experience with high-frequency jet ventilation.

The role will involve performing endotracheal tube suctioning, extubation, and various airway management techniques.

Candidates should be skilled in sputum specimen collection and pulmonary hygiene.

Travelers may be expected to work weekends as per unit needs, with a maximum of three consecutive weekends.

Compliance documentation will be required before the start of the assignment.

The role includes troubleshooting high-pressure alarms and weaning from mechanical ventilation.

Candidates must have experience working with neonates and pediatric patients.

Additional experience in a Level I Trauma Center is required.

All candidates must be fully available for compliance procedures after signing.

Travelers can work up to 12 consecutive months before needing to take a break.
