Expleo USA is hiring an Automotive Vehicle Triage and / or Modernization Engineer to join our client's team in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This is a hands-on, garage-based role where you'll lead triage efforts for a new light commercial vehicle (LCV) platform built on cutting-edge electric architecture developed in Europe.
You'll be at the heart of vehicle testing, diagnostics, and modernization—working directly with prototype vehicles to ensure performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Your Role & Responsibilities
Lead triage efforts for a new LCV vehicle platform for North AmericaInvestigate, classify, and prioritize incoming technical issues (SW, FW, HW, wiring harness)Reproduce and resolve complex hardware / software issues in prototype vehiclesOptimize test setups and troubleshoot using diagnostic tools and vehicle dataAnalyze CAN / LIN logs and vehicle data to ensure system compliancePerform functional, performance, and durability tests on automotive EE systemsConduct fault tree analysis, 8D problem solving, and validation of corrective actionsDefine and execute validation checklist tests and processesEnsure alignment with Automotive client North America and global engineering quality objectivesSkills & Experience You Should Possess
5+ years of experience in automotive engineering, triage, or diagnosticsStrong knowledge of vehicle architectures and electrical system integrationExperience with diagnostic tools, CAN communication, and vehicle data logging systemsProven ability to interpret CAN / LIN logs and troubleshoot vehicle subsystemsExperience in OEM or Tier 1 automotive environmentsSkilled in structured problem-solving and cross-functional collaborationStrong interpersonal and technical communication skillsBonus Points If You Have
Experience in in-field quality or post-production issue resolutionHands-on experience with hybrid or electric vehicle systemsFamiliarity with fault tree analysis and 8D methodologiesExperience working in prototype garages or test environmentsExposure to global engineering teams and supplier collaborationEducation & Certifications You Need
Bachelor of Science in Applied Automation, Electronics, Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience(Can have certifications)What We Offer
