Truck Sales Manager
Job Summary
The Truck Sales Manager is responsible for leading the sales team to achieve revenue targets by selling new and used heavy-duty trucks, auto hauler trailers, and roll-off equipment. This role involves developing sales strategies, managing client relationships, overseeing the sales process, and ensuring customer satisfaction while driving profitability. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with deep knowledge of the commercial truck and equipment industry and a proven track record in sales management.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Leadership : Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet or exceed revenue and unit sales targets for trucks, trailers, and roll-off equipment.
- Team Management : Recruit, train, and motivate a team of sales representatives, setting performance goals and providing coaching to enhance product knowledge and sales performance.
- Customer Relationship Management : Build and maintain strong relationships with fleet operators, transport companies, and key accounts to drive repeat business and referrals.
- Market Analysis : Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs in the commercial truck and equipment sector to identify growth opportunities and adjust sales strategies.
- Inventory Oversight : Collaborate with inventory and procurement teams to ensure product availability aligns with customer specifications and market demand.
- Sales Process Optimization : Oversee the entire sales process, from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and a seamless customer experience.
- Financial Performance : Manage sales budgets, forecast sales projections, and analyze performance metrics to maximize profitability.
- Customer Support : Partner with after-sales and service teams to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve post-sale issues promptly.
- Compliance : Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements for commercial vehicles and equipment.
Qualifications
Experience : Minimum of 10 years of sales experience in the commercial truck, trailer, or equipment industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Familiarity with leading OEM truck and trailer brands preferred.Education : Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience may be considered.Skills & Attributes :Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.In-depth knowledge of truck, trailer, and roll-off equipment specifications, financing options, and industry regulations.Results-driven, customer-focused, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.Certifications : Valid driver’s license required; CDL a plus.Work Environment
Location : Based at company headquarters, with occasional travel for client meetings, trade shows, or industry events.Schedule : Full-time, with flexibility for evenings or weekends to meet client and business demands.Physical Requirements : Ability to conduct vehicle and equipment demonstrations, which may involve standing, walking, or climbing into trucks and trailers.Compensation & Benefits
