Overview :
Sentara Health Plan is seeking a dynamic Patient Service Coordinator to join their team.
This role is hybrid in Virginia and Florida only. Will be required to report to a Sentara office (Sentara Park, Richmond office, or AvMed office in Florida) twice per month.
Overview
A Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for developing care plans, coordinating patient care services, and ensuring patients receive the necessary medical treatment. They consult with healthcare providers, evaluate patient progress, and assist with securing funding for medical care.
Coordinates activities for specific practices, including insurance verification / obtaining pre-certification, scheduling, pre-registration and order transmission. Purpose is to ensure maximum reimbursement and reduce denials related to incomplete insurance information and / or authorization. Maintains statistics and acts as liaison between clinical testing sites and offices.
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
Certification / Licensure
No specific certification or licensure requirements
Experience
Previous healthcare experience (Required)
Two years of call center experience (Preferred)
