QUALIFICATIONS :
- Must have a collegiate or postgraduate professional license or be eligible for a provisional license in music.
- One year of teaching experience or its equivalency preferred.
- Experience conducting lessons, assessing student progress, maintaining discipline, and meeting with parents is preferred.
- Experience providing ongoing academic guidance is preferred.
- Bilingual skills, including Spanish, are a plus.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS :
Understand and communicate the RPS philosophy and mission.Plan and implement a program of study tailored to students' needs.Create a conducive learning environment suitable for the students' developmental level.Prepare for classes and provide evidence of preparation.Guide learning towards curriculum goals and establish clear objectives.Set high expectations for academic success and behavior.Use various instructional techniques and media to meet student needs.Identify and seek assistance for students with special needs.Assess student progress regularly and communicate with supervisors and parents.Maintain accurate records and adhere to policies and regulations.Participate in faculty and department meetings and ongoing professional development.Contribute to school community activities and responsibilities as assigned.GENERAL CONDITIONS :
Work is performed in a school setting involving standing, sitting, light lifting, walking, vocal communication, hearing, and visual tasks.
