Battery Technician

Purpose and scope :

To assist in safely loading & transporting DC power systems & equipment in and out of telecommunication cellular sites.

Responsibilities :

• Listen to your lead for guidance. Never act on your own ideas, without asking the lead or your peers first.
• Understand all safety requirements, such as PPE and lifting equipment. Every task in this industry has a safe procedure, and knowing the safe way is the best way.
• Be able to move batteries safely in and out of a site.
• Properly secure the load on your vehicle.
• Keep the workplace clean.
• Know your surroundings in the workplace and understand potential dangers.
• Prepping parts like No-ox on battery inter-cell connectors.
• Putting nuts and bolts together in proper order and orientation.
• Prepping battery rack for installation and digging trenches for AC & DC conduits.
• Properly log birth and death serial number information.
• Exposure to extreme hot & cold environments at, but not limited to, raw land, mountain tops, basements, high traffic areas, and building rooftops.

Schedule :

Physical Requirements : Must be able to lift 100 lbs. consistently.

Education / Training : OSHA 10, RF Safety awareness, CPR Cert.

Technical Requirements : Valid Driver's License.

Compensation : $20-22 / hr
