Description
: Overview of Unit / Department
Our unit specializes in the care of acute rehabilitation patients, typically supporting individuals transitioning through major lifestyle changes such as recovery after a stroke or amputation. Patients usually stay with us for approximately two weeks and participate in about three hours of therapy each day to support their recovery and independence.
This unit is an excellent fit for nurses at all stages of their careers, including GNRs, international nurses, and those new to rehabilitation nursing. We also welcome and support nursing students, offering flexibility to accommodate academic schedules.
Teamwork is a defining strength of our environment. All units at Meyer Orthopedic Rehab Hospital work closely, ensuring that no staff member is ever working alone. The patient population is generally stable, and since the units are located away from the main hospital at Cox South, the overall pace and stress levels tend to be lower, making this a supportive and fulfilling place to grow your nursing career.
