Pay : $29-$35 / hr + $5,000 Stay-On Bonus

Schedule : Monday-Friday, 7 : 00 AM-5 : 00 PM + Possible Saturdays & Year-Round OT

Waste Connections, Inc. is hiring a high-energy, self-directed, and organized Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Technician to join our team in Riverview, FL. Prior experience in the waste industry and familiarity with Equipment Management Software is a strong advantage .

Key Responsibilities :

• Order parts and build strong relationships with site staff, office clerks, and equipment vendors.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.
• Maintain and repair landfill equipment including compactors, dozers, excavators, motor graders, haul trucks, and site trucks.
• Use onboard computer systems to interpret failure codes and initiate repairs.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns, including those on the landfill working face.
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment confidently.
• Complete inspections, safety checks, and maintenance documentation using fleet software.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company standards.
• Communicate repair needs and updates clearly and promptly.
