American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Bed Placement / Patient Placement role in an acute care setting, requiring a CA RN license and strong computer skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Based in an acute care system office with responsibility for bed placement across up to three hospitalsNo direct or hands-on patient care is involved in this positionShifts are 12 hours, 06 : 30–19 : 00, with a requirement to work every other weekendUnit supports up to 500–1000 beds, coordinating with multiple departments including ER and MedSurgMust be able to work assigned holidays if neededUses Cerner for EMR and TeleTracking for bed managementNo floating requiredDress code allows any color scrubs or professional, clean casual attirePrimary responsibilities include assigning patients to the appropriate hospital units and coordinating with leadership and charge nurses as neededWill work on multiple screens using applications such as TeleTrac, Cerner, and Google apps to communicate with ED, leadership, and others regarding bed assignmentsNo recommendations, treatment plans, or diagnoses will be made in this positionOrientation includes one day of general hospital training and 3–5 days of departmental orientation, which may occur on any shiftFirst-time travelers are welcome to applySupport structure includes lead and supervisor coverage 24 / 7Must have very limited requests for time off, as only rare accommodations are possibleFree onsite parking and EV charging availableCafé on site closes at 2 : 30 p.m.\n \n Requirements\n
Active and current CA RN license required at the time of considerationMinimum of 2 years recent acute care experience required; one LTC contract may be acceptable, but primarily SNF experience will not be consideredBasic Life Support (BLS) certification requiredExperience with Cerner and TeleTracking requiredStrong computer skills required, including proficiency with Google apps and Zoom preferredMust possess strong multitasking and customer service abilitiesKnowledge of different hospital departments such as MedSurg and Telemetry is requiredMust pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance, with proof of attempts if retakingRequired to provide two references (one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years with dates of employment and rehire eligibility)Copy of driver’s license required for considerationCandidates may not have been employed directly by any CommonSpirit affiliated facility within the past year; PRN employment via outside firms is allowed\n Benefits\n
