Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Bed Placement / Patient Placement role in an acute care setting, requiring a CA RN license and strong computer skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Based in an acute care system office with responsibility for bed placement across up to three hospitals
  • No direct or hands-on patient care is involved in this position
  • Shifts are 12 hours, 06 : 30–19 : 00, with a requirement to work every other weekend
  • Unit supports up to 500–1000 beds, coordinating with multiple departments including ER and MedSurg
  • Must be able to work assigned holidays if needed
  • Uses Cerner for EMR and TeleTracking for bed management
  • No floating required
  • Dress code allows any color scrubs or professional, clean casual attire
  • Primary responsibilities include assigning patients to the appropriate hospital units and coordinating with leadership and charge nurses as needed
  • Will work on multiple screens using applications such as TeleTrac, Cerner, and Google apps to communicate with ED, leadership, and others regarding bed assignments
  • No recommendations, treatment plans, or diagnoses will be made in this position
  • Orientation includes one day of general hospital training and 3–5 days of departmental orientation, which may occur on any shift
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Support structure includes lead and supervisor coverage 24 / 7
  • Must have very limited requests for time off, as only rare accommodations are possible
  • Free onsite parking and EV charging available
  • Café on site closes at 2 : 30 p.m.

    • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Active and current CA RN license required at the time of consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience required; one LTC contract may be acceptable, but primarily SNF experience will not be considered
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Experience with Cerner and TeleTracking required
  • Strong computer skills required, including proficiency with Google apps and Zoom preferred
  • Must possess strong multitasking and customer service abilities
  • Knowledge of different hospital departments such as MedSurg and Telemetry is required
  • Must pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance, with proof of attempts if retaking
  • Required to provide two references (one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years with dates of employment and rehire eligibility)
  • Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
  • Candidates may not have been employed directly by any CommonSpirit affiliated facility within the past year; PRN employment via outside firms is allowed
