Inpatient Audit Specialist

A company is looking for an Inpatient Audit Specialist to conduct coding audits and provide education related to coding quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct inpatient coding audits on medical records using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and other coding references

Provide coder education and prepare reports related to audit findings

Meet with client facility representatives to discuss issues and trends identified in audits

Required Qualifications

3+ years of experience in coding and auditing

Associate or Bachelor's degree from an AHIMA-certified HIM or Nursing Program, or a certificate from AAPC

Preferred : CCS, RHIT, or RHIA credentials

Experience in academic / level 1 trauma centers

Track record of maintaining a 95% accuracy rate for APC assignment and productivity standards
