Position Title :

  • Regional Coordinator Reports to : Director of Supportive Visitation Services Broad Function : Provide programmatic oversight of operations.   I : CORE VALUES Demonstrates awareness of biases, internalized racial superiority and oppression.

  • LEADERSHIP : Regional Coordinator Responsibilities Maintains and / or develops expertise in the SVS model.
  • Assists Director with facilitation of team meetings, assignment of cases, and coordination of additional program functions.
  • Oversees Visitation Aides Maintains Visit Aides weekly schedules, ensures Visit Aides job duties are complete, meets with staff for supervision, etc.
  • Oversee on-site and community visit schedules.
  • Initiates and maintains ongoing communication with families that is culturally sensitive, utilizing family’s preferred language considering a family’s faith and culture.
  • Ensures the environment for parent-child contact is safe, non-traumatizing, and promotes healthy attachment.
  • Creates an environment that empowers family members, including parents, children, and caregivers to communicate their goals and needs.
  • Utilizes various interviewing and / or communication techniques in a culturally competent manner.
  • Recognizes non-verbal communication and maintains good eye contact and posture.
  • Advocates for parents / families as necessary and supports them in advocating for themselves.
  • Facilitates and co-facilitates on-boarding and staff training, as specified alongside the Program Director, Associate Director, supervising therapeutic visitation specialists, and Supervising supportive visitation specialists.
  • Support the screening process to ensure that referrals are appropriate and the availability of visitation staff.
  • Track and ensure all vehicle maintenance is completed and up to date for fleet in collaboration with supervising therapeutic visitation specialists & supervising supportive visitation specialists in accordance with vehicle policies and procedures.
  • Confirms appropriate car seat inventory.
  • Be an active, positive stakeholder in the communication feedback loop among administration, supervising visitation specialists, and all direct service staff.
  • Support a positive relationship between service and administration that is balanced with accountability, positive morale, and support.
  • Provide on-site support during work hours and intervene as needed / when staff require support.
  • Support staff’s facilitation of Visit Planning Meetings and track VPM occurrence to ensure fidelity to the model.
  • Track completion of caregiver surveys, assist staff with scheduling as needed.
  • Track referrals and maintain waitlist.
  • Facilitating communication with respective RDS regarding waitlists and assignment of cases.
  • Assist with case assignment and case transfers.
  • Initiates and maintains ongoing communication with DCP&P, other providers, and supports.
  • Assist with purchasing program supplies, following protocol outlined by finance team.
  • Support the Program Director & Associate Director ensuring Medicaid billing is timely and complete.
  • Share on-call responsibilities with leadership.
  • Regularly attend chosen sub-committee.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • V :

  • DIRECT SERVICE Provides therapeutic visitation services for part time caseload (see full therapeutic visitation specialist job description) and provides coverage for visitation services when needed.
  • SPECIFICATIONS :

  • Education & Experience : Candidates must possess a master’s degree in social work or related field (e.g. counseling) and a valid license (LSW or LAC).
  • LCSW or LPC, with clinical supervision certification is preferred.
  • Preferred candidates will have at least 1 year in the mental health field, including at least 1 year experience working with children and families, particularly families involved in the child welfare system and and / or affected by trauma.
  • Valid New Jersey driver’s license, safe driving record, and vehicle availability are required.
  • Knowledge :

  • Knowledge of the child welfare system, community resources, social services, and mental health systems.
  • Knowledge of appropriate therapeutic interventions in crisis and non-crisis situations.
  • Knowledge of trauma and its effect on children and families.
  • Experience / willingness to work with culturally diverse populations.
  • General understanding of the presentation of mental health diagnoses and substance use disorders.
  • Operates from a trauma-informed perspective.                                                         Skills and Abilities :

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous responsibilities and people simultaneously.  Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to utilize de-escalation techniques and support staff.
  • Effective human relations skills with the ability to function in a team environment and be fair, respectful, considerate and inclusive. Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and / or electronic health record systems.

  • Salary Range :

  • $70,000 - $75,000 Vacation & Benefits :   Vacation : As a full-time employee working generally 35 hours per week, you will be eligible to participate in the Family Connections group benefit plans.
