Job Summary :

The EHS Specialist Coordinator supports the implementation, execution, and maintenance of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) systems at a leading manufacturing plant. Reporting directly to the Director of EHS, this role works collaboratively with corporate EHS, plant leadership, and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with safety standards, drive sustainability initiatives, and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement. The role is crucial in maintaining regulatory compliance, managing incident investigations, and reinforcing safety processes and training.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead and monitor EHS initiatives across plant operations.

Guide environmental, health, and safety activities across one or more facilities.

Reinforce corporate EHS policies and safe working techniques.

Monitor and report on EHS metrics and compliance indicators.

Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.

Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal EHS regulations.

Manage training programs, including onboarding and ongoing EHS training.

Conduct audits and inspections to ensure safety and environmental compliance.

Coordinate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to address deficiencies.

Support capital project planning and sustainability efforts.

Record and analyze incidents using the Gensuite EHS system.

Liaise with vendors, SMEs, and regulatory bodies as needed.

Participate in hazard analyses and operability studies.

Partner with HR on Workers' Compensation cases.

Ensure implementation of Corporate EHS systems and applications.

Required Experience :

Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred)

Minimum 1 year of EHS program management experience (preferred)

Experience with Process Safety Management and OSHA / EPA regulations

Familiarity with PPE, industrial safety engineering, and risk mitigation

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Proficiency with Google Suite and other standard computer tools

Organizational skills and confidentiality awareness

Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed

Nice-to-Have Experience :

CSP, ASP, CIH, or CEP certifications

Experience in manufacturing environments or capital project support

Knowledge of Management of Change (MOC) and EHS audits

Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies involvement

Required Skills :

OSHA / EPA regulation knowledge

EHS incident investigation and audit experience

Strong interpersonal and team collaboration

Preferred Skills :

Proficiency with the Gensuite EHS system

Process Safety Management knowledge

Hands-on safety training and documentation management

Communication with vendors and regulatory agencies

Additional Skills :

Environmental permit monitoring

Sustainability operations support

Risk assessment and corrective action planning
