OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting occupational therapists in delivering high-quality patient care across various settings, including home health, acute care, outpatient clinics, and skilled nursing facilities. This position requires a strong understanding of patient needs and the ability to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) while fostering a positive therapeutic environment.
- Duties
- Assist occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to meet the specific needs of patients.
- Provide hands-on support to patients in performing ADLs, ensuring their comfort and safety during therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient environments.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist with therapeutic exercises and interventions effectively.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and any changes in condition.
- Engage with patients of all ages, including geriatrics and pediatrics, to promote functional independence through therapeutic activities.
- Ensure compliance with medical terminology and standards while delivering patient care.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices in occupational health.
- Requirements
- Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
- Experience in skilled nursing facilities or similar healthcare settings is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical imaging, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
