Uses chemicals only for their intended use and follows department procedure for dispensing and / or mixing chemicals. Utilizes proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Keeps utility rooms clean and replenished with supplies. Cleans work / supply carts, equipment, etc. as necessary / directed. Reports equipment malfunctions.

1. Cleans and services patient rooms, offices and hallways, as well as other inpatient, outpatient and ancillary areas.
- Strips and makes patient beds after discharge of patient.
- Performs isolation cleaning and dismissal cleaning as assigned.
- Dusts furniture and equipment.
- Cleans windows, empties trash, tidies rooms.
- Cleans and polishes baths, sinks, mirrors, etc., and refills soap and towels.
- Dusts light fixtures and vents in all areas.
- Polishes and cleans glass and metal hardware on doors.
- Cleans lab, x-ray, surgery area (O.R.), emergency rooms (E.R.), labor / delivery (O.B.), and other areas on a scheduled basis.
- Cleans office areas in accordance to policies.
- Moves furniture such as beds, chairs tables, etc.
- Collects trash and linens from assigned areas and deposit them in the appropriate place for pick-up or removal.
2. Promotes and ensures patient and staff safety in all aspects of responsibilities.
3. Ensures proper supplies and equipment are maintained.
4. Performs other duties as assigned.
