EPC Cost Engineer

Location

This is a hybrid (virtual / onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and may be assigned to any Consumers Energy Service Center located throughout Michigan's lower Peninsula. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).

GENERAL SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

EPC Cost Engineers collect and analyze cost data to support the management and forecasting of project costs, utilizing pre-established systems to monitor and control costs. Moderate understanding of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within area of responsibility. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This position will support projects in the Electric Distribution business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure project / program adherence to EPM Project Lifecycle Processes that impact Cost Controls
• Support the corporate Change Log Request process
• Support the Long-Term Financial Planning and Rate Case processes, as required
• Effectively communicate monthly, annual, and overall project / program variance explanations
• Assemble, evaluate, and communicate accrual (advanced booking) data on a monthly basis
• Coordinate with the Project Team, Internal and External Stakeholders, as needed, to support the project
• Collect and analyze cost data in order to produce annual and overall project / program forecasts
• Miscellaneous data entry / tracking / reporting
• Other duties as assigned or may be necessary
