Manager Regional Transportation

The Manager Regional Transportation will own the transportation routing for multiple Distribution Centers. This position will also work with the Manager Network Transportation to manage and plan domestic transportation for Michaels Companies. This includes working closely with Distribution Centers, Vendors, Internal Partners and Stores.

Major Activities

Manage the planning and routing of vendor inbound merchandise and outbound store deliveries by Region :

• Manage compliance of actual delivery activity to planned routes by compiling data and reporting KPI's.
• Manage maintenance of Dedicated Contract Carriage utilization and OT service standards.

Assist with documentation and standardization of best business practices to ensure consistency across network :

Partner in development, implementation and management of special projects :

Transportation Support :

Provides visibility and forecasts to common carrier partners to insure service performance and supply chain.

Minimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills

Computer skills : Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio and Access databases

Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires

Minimum Travel Required

Required travel 20% of time

Preferred Education

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management or related Logistics field
