Supervisory position responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance and repair of underground utility systems. These systems can include water, sewer, gas and storm sewer.
Key Responsibilities :
- Project Management : Plans and coordinates underground utility projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
- Supervision and leadership : Directs the daily activities of crews and providing guidance and support
- Safety Oversight : Ensures all work performed in compliance with safety regulations and standards, conducting safety meetings and inspections
- Technical Expertise : Provides technical direction and problem solving for complex underground utility issues
- Equipment and Materials Management : Manages the use and maintenance of specialized equipment and tools, ensuring they are available and in good working condition
- Training and Development : Trains crew members on best practices, safety procedures and technical skills specific to underground utility work
- Quality Control : Monitors work quality to ensure it meets industry standards and project specifications
- Documenting and Reporting : Maintains detailed records of work performed, materials used and project progress
- Communication : Act as a liaison between field crews, and management, ensuring clear and effective communication
Qualifications :
Experience : Extensive experience in underground utility work, often with several years in a supervisory roleLeadership Skills : Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong interpersonal skillsTechnical Knowledge : In-depth understanding of underground utility systems, construction techniques and related equipmentProblem-Solving Abilities : Ability to address and resolve complex technical and logistical issuesSafety Awareness : Strong commitment to maintain high safety standards and ensuring compliance with regulationsCertifications : May require specific certifications related to underground utility work and safety
