Epic Revenue Cycle Project Manager

The Epic Revenue Cycle Project Manager oversees the implementation and optimization of Epic's billing, claims, and financial modules, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. They coordinate cross-functional teams, manage timelines and budgets, and drive workflow design to improve revenue integrity and operational efficiency. Their role is critical in bridging clinical and financial operations during large-scale EHR deployments.

Responsibilities

Project Planning

  • Lead large technical teams, including management of staff
  • Defining scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Aligning project goals with institutional strategies.
  • Coordinating across clinical, technical, and operational teams.
  • Managing risk assessments and mitigation plans.
  • This function is foundational and often consumes the largest share of time, especially during pre-work and configuration phases.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Facilitating communication between IT, clinicians, Epic, consultants, and leadership.
  • Leading steering committees and advisory councils.
  • Preparing and presenting status reports, decision summaries, and SBARs.
  • Managing communication and organizational change alignment.
  • System Configuration & Workflow Alignment & Oversight

  • Customization of Epic modules to meet clinical and operational needs.
  • Decision tracking for build options and workflows (e.g., Orion building blocks).
  • Coordination of specialty-specific workflows (e.g., resident attestation, APP supervision).
  • Integration with third-party systems.
  • Training, Go-Live, & Optimization Support

  • Overseeing end-user training and readiness.
  • Supporting go-live stabilization and KPI tracking (e.g., Gold Stars, MyChart adoption).
  • Lead post-live optimization efforts.
  • Ensuring alignment with compliance, legal, and patient experience goals.
  • Marginal or Periodic Functions

  • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Epic Certification Recommended
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a health, science, or business field, or in lieu of a degree, five (5) years of related professional experience supporting clinical, ancillary, or business environments will be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical information systems, clinical informatics, data management and administration.
  • Experience and proven success in information systems implementation, development and support within a large-scale healthcare organization required.
  • Must have demonstrated experience working with clinicians in a support and / or educational role. Able to exercise problem-solving skills, good judgment based on guiding principles, and organizational policies / practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Experience managing teams. Must be customer focused
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Epic Certification or Accreditation in relevant Core application recommended.
  • Understanding of Epic technical architecture and knowledge of Epic suite of products

    $115,000 + depending on qualifications
