Principal Function : The Exhibit and Technology Support Specialist serves in a dual-purpose role of technical maintenance, repair, configuration and installation for Museum exhibits including audio / video and computer hardware and software components. Additionally, this position responds to general use of technology support requests from staff (computer, network, software) which includes proactive and diagnostic resolution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Exhibit Technology Maintenance and repair

Conduct routine checks of exhibit spaces to identify and report any malfunctions or damage to interactive displays and lighting.

Develop technical documentation for new and repaired exhibits, such as schematic diagrams and parts lists.

Serve as an on-call resource to respond to exhibit technical malfunctions during operating hours.

Keep confidential information private and secure.

Monitor assigned systems and address identified issues to prevent downtime.

Education and / or Experience

Education : High School diploma or equivalent

Experience : with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical support role.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), and the ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to working in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and outdoor weather conditions. The employee will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Conner Prairie Museum, Inc. is generally open from 10 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, this position will be required to work beyond these hours and when open for special events.
