This is a remote position.

Position :    OSP Designer II

Location :   Remote

Engineering Excellence. Accelerating Network Deployments.

We are accepting applications in anticipation of an upcoming contract. Qualified candidates will be contacted once funding and project timelines are finalized. The anticipated start date for this role is at the end of the year or early next year.

We're looking for a OSP Designer II  who combines technical precision with a collaborative spirit. You'll work closely with engineers, technicians, and business stale holders to ensure successful project delivery.

What you'll do :

  • Design OSP network infrastructure in accordance with industry standards and regulations
  • Create OSP design drawing and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Conduct site surveys to gather data necessary for OSP design
  • Determine optimal routing for OSP networks, considering factors such as existing infrastructure, terrain, and accessibility
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements and timelines
  • Participate in project planning meetings to understand project scope and objectives
  • Create project documentation, including design plans, cost estimates, and project schedules
  • Identify potential design issues and propose solutions to ensure network reliability
  • Review and approve designs created by other designers and contractors
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, standards, and regulations related to OSP design

You bring :

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as engineering or computer science
  • 4+ years of experience in OSP design, with a focus on fiber option and copper networks
  • Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Proficient in 3GIS, AGOL, or other GIS based software
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to OSP design
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
