Overview Job Title : Fashion Designer - (Freelance)

Location : Manhattan, NY 10038 (Hybrid)

Duration : Temporary Assignment

About the Role We’re looking for a senior-level Freelance Designer who can create fresh, market-ready fashion designs that balance creativity with commercial success. This role is about designing styles, colors / prints, fits, and fabrics that reflect the brand’s vision and meet customer needs, while working closely with cross-functional teams.

What You’ll Do Design seasonal products that align with the brand’s concept and business goals.

Research trends and customer preferences, then turn them into sellable designs.

Develop sketches, prototypes, and specifications.

Adjust and refine designs based on feedback.

Collaborate with Merchandising, Marketing, and Product Development teams.

Present your designs to leaders and partners.

Mentor and guide junior designers.

Ensure products are delivered on time, within budget, and without compromising quality.

What We’re Looking For A fashion-forward designer with a commercial mindset (someone who can balance creativity with what sells).

Strong eye for detail in styling, fit, and fabric.

5+ years of design experience in retail / fashion.

Ability to sketch original designs and develop full product lines.

Team player with strong communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (design software knowledge is a plus).

Bachelor’s degree in Design or equivalent experience.

Type of Designer the Client Wants Has hands-on experience in mid-to-high volume product categories.

Understands commercial fashion trends and can translate them into brand-right, sellable designs.

Is both creative and strategic—someone who thinks about style + customer + business.

Can lead and inspire junior designers while managing their own deliverables.
