job_description.job_card.job_descriptionGood understanding of musical terminology and / or ability to perform music. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with teacher(s) and students. Some experience working with children. Assist the elementary music teacher in preparing material for instruction, maintain bulletin board displays, and operate audiovisual equipment. Provide clerical assistance, duplicate materials, maintain student records, and perform some of the duties of an educational materials assistant. Work as an instructional assistant, demonstrate skills and instruct students while under the supervision of the music teacher. Supervise students before school and during lunch period. Attend Fine Arts meetings, clinics, and in-service workshops. Work with the principal, supervisory staff, and music teacher in identifying and solving problems related to his / her students. Interact with students to promote a positive school image to enhance the learning process. Promote positive community relations through effective communication. Demonstrate a professional attitude in performing designated responsibilities. Demonstrate proficiency and creativity in assisting the music teacher to maintain a well-disciplined classroom environment conducive to music education. Dress professionally and appropriately. Effectively perform other duties and functions assigned by the Principal, Music Teacher, and the Director of Fine Art. Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the Principal may assign.
