Overview
System Engineer role at KBR, Inc. Location : Huntsville, AL (Redstone Arsenal area). This is a full-time, on-site contractor position located in Huntsville, AL just outside of Redstone Arsenal Gate 9 in Redstone Gateway. Candidate must be a resident or able to relocate to the area.
Duties
- Develop an understanding of the system engineering process used in each product office under STARE.
- Assist in the development and implementation of STARE SE standard procedures.
- Coordinate with the STARE Systems Engineering Director where each product is in their process.
- Provide subject matter expertise on engineering processes, standards, options, and documentation processes for application to rapid development and acquisition programs.
- Coordinate and manage calendars, appointments, and teleconferences.
- Attend meetings to provide updates and capture requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and follow-up of meetings (including taking meeting minutes).
- Organize and prioritize incoming tasks and requests.
- Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, and presentations.
- Conduct research and gather information for various mission initiatives.
- Manage and maintain classified, controlled unclassified, confidential, and unclassified files and documents.
- Liaise with higher headquarters, governmental organizations, stakeholders, and subordinate organizations to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Maintain office electronic filing and Knowledge Management systems through Microsoft SharePoint, including key briefings, documents, and calendars.
The ideal candidate should be proactive, resourceful, independently motivated and detail oriented. The position requires good time management capabilities and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Systems Engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related field with 10+ years of experience as a systems engineer or similar role.Strong knowledge of SE processes associated with DoD / Army system development and acquisition.Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to adapt communication style to different audiences and develop accurate written materials.Strong presentation skills and capability to brief audiences of varying technical knowledge.Ability to operate independently in a dynamic environment with multiple tasks and tight deadlines.Ability to build solid relationships with team members, leadership, and customers.US Citizen required.Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.Preferred Qualifications
Familiar with air and missile defense systems.Experience interfacing with Army, OSD and DoD organizations and related staff processes in the DoD acquisition process.Experience in SE requirements development and system integration.Familiar with software requirements development and integration into the SE process.Who We Are
