General Purchasing And Administrative Job
Under general supervision, this job performs moderately complex purchasing and administrative work according to established procedures, division / departmental guidelines, internal controls, and regulatory requirements applicable to the work. Employees in this job classification function professionally to accomplish assigned tasks according to established schedules, calendars, and projects. Work is performed under the supervision of the Purchasing Agent.
Essential Job Functions :
- Provide guidance and assistance to the BOCC and other governmental agency employees and outside vendors to help accurately complete the purchasing process in accordance with established policies.
- Oversee and maintain inventory control for all county inventory.
- Appropriately applies advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting, budgeting, procurement, and record keeping required for the area of assignment.
- Initiates requisitions and purchase orders for appropriate documentation and accounting and adherence to county policies and budgets.
- Compiles, analyzes, and reports various statistical data and transactional information daily, monthly, and year-end; analyzes and reports historical and projected information.
- Performs detailed research and compiles statistical and financial data for monthly activity and payments. Coordinates submission and formulation of documentation required.
- Assists the Purchasing Agent with various projects and tasks as assigned.
- Performs duties in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment; consistently interacts with others proactively.
- In case of an emergency or crisis situation (hurricane, flood, etc.), the position must respond / perform recovery duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
- Maintains regular physical attendance during normal work hours at one of the county's offices or work facilities with the ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related fieldThree (3) years purchasing experienceLicenses, Certifications, or Registrations :
Valid Florida Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the insurance providerMust possess or obtain the required National Incident Management System (NIMS) certifications within six (6) months of employmentSupplemental Information :
