Job Title : Physical Therapist – School-Based
Location : Ithaca, NY
Schedule : Full-time or Part time
Overview :
Phaxis is seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist to join a supportive school team serving students from elementary through high school. This role focuses on enhancing students’ mobility, motor skills, and physical independence to promote academic success and participation in school activities.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students in accordance with IEP goals and state / federal guidelines.
- Evaluate and develop individualized treatment plans addressing gross motor, balance, and functional mobility needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other support staff to integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom.
- Monitor and document progress, maintaining compliance with all educational and therapy documentation standards.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing input and recommendations based on evaluations and student progress.
- Educate staff and families on strategies to support student mobility and physical participation throughout the school day.
