Details :
This position will entail developing a well-rounded knowledge of the Company's operations, cost accounting processes and systems, and COPAS accounting guidelines with particular emphasis on capital and operating expenditures, joint interest billing and cost allocation. It will encompass the following :
- Analyze operating expense or capital costs general ledger accounts and other ad hoc analysis requests assigned.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly accounting journal entries for cost allocations, partner billings, accruals.
- Accumulate data for monthly and quarterly reporting.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare correcting journal entries, if needed.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Other tasks as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, CPA is a plus. A Bachelor's degree in related business field with a minimum of 18 hours of accounting will be considered.3+ years of oil and gas industry accounting experience with a concentration in operations accounting preferredStrong organizational and interpersonal skillsExcellent communications skillsStrong familiarity and working knowledge of COPAS operating agreementsHighly self-motivated with ability to multi-task and meet rigorous deadlinesRequires accuracy and strong analytical skillsProficient knowledge of Windows, Excel, and WordKnowledge of AS400 system, MS Query, or SQL a plusPosition will be filled a level commensurate with experience.
