This position is located in a healthcare facility in North Carolina.

\n\nAssignment Duration\n

This is a 13-week contract position.

\n\nSchedule\n

Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07 : 00 - 19 : 00). Weekend coverage is every other weekend.

\n\nJob Description\n

The Registered Nurse will provide high-quality nursing care in a 30-bed Medical Neuroscience Progressive Care Unit. The focus will be on caring for medical neurological patients with conditions such as strokes, seizure disorders, and traumatic brain injuries. Responsibilities include monitoring patients' conditions, administering treatments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

\n\nResponsibilities\n \n

  • Monitor and assess patient health status while providing appropriate care.

    • \n

  • Perform neurological assessments and manage acute medical conditions.

    • \n

  • Administer medications and manage cardiac drips without titration.

    • \n

  • Collaborate with the healthcare team for effective patient management.

    • \n

  • Educate patients and their families on neurological conditions and treatments.

    • \n

  • Provide care for patients on CPAP / BIPAP and manage tracheostomy care.

    • \n \n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n \n

  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a Neuro PCU.

    • \n

  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.

    • \n

  • Experience with CVA, External CPAP / BiPAP, and TR Band management preferred.

    • \n

  • Previous charge nurse experience is preferred.
