About The Position

Job Title : CT Technologist

License : Associate's Degree

Certifications : ARRT - CT; BLS

Must-Have :

Graduate of an accredited Radiography program.

Current CRT-Radiologic Technologist Registration - ARRT.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.

Description :

Under general supervision, performs diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment.

Demonstrates good clinical skills to provide the best possible images for interpretation.

Applies ALARA principles of radiation protection.

Verifies patient identification and physician order.

Provides procedural information and education to the patient and family prior to each exam.

Acquires an accurate patient history and documents it in the medical record.

Performs CT and related patient care procedures using age-appropriate methods for patient physical abilities and limitations.

Places IVs as required for the injection of contrast media.

Proficiently operates CT imaging equipment and performs necessary quality control and quality assurance testing.

Monitors patients during procedures to ensure their safety.

Ensures STAT requests are relayed to the radiologist in a timely manner.

Maintains cleanliness and proper stock of exam rooms and equipment between patients.

Utilizes hospital computer systems effectively for verifying orders, viewing schedules, and sending information to PACS.

Engages in effective communication and collaboration with medical staff, management, technical and support staff.

Physical Demands :

Occasionally lifts and carries up to 35 lbs.

Frequently stands and walks.

Seldom sits and engages in forward bending, trunk rotation, squatting, and driving.

Requires occasional finger and hand dexterity.
