Responsibilities
Provide oversight of the food service activities at an assigned location with responsibilities for organizing food preparation, supervising cafeteria workers, and serving meals.
Ensure quantities and quality of food are available; provide daily operation reports; ensure compliance with mandated nutritional and health requirements.
Manage site operations, including supervising personnel, staffing, menu planning (including special dietary needs), tracking meal accounts and expenditures, and identifying overages / shortages.
Monitor food service operations for safety, sanitation, and compliance with health standards; maintain equipment and work areas in sanitary condition.
Maintain documentation (manual and electronic) for reference and regulatory compliance.
Train and orient new employees; oversee the preparation, cooking, serving, and transportation of food to meet projected meal quantities and standards.
Prepare various reports (meal program records, reconciliation, cash summaries, time sheets) and reconcile transactions in accordance with policies.
Respond to inquiries regarding available food items, policies, and practices; schedule staff work hours; stock supplies; supervise and train staff; participate in meetings and training sessions.
Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective site operations.
Qualifications
Age 16+
High school diploma or equivalent
Job-related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired
Training and Certifications
Must renew Serv Safe certification every 3 years
Food Handler's Permit
Serv Safe Certificate
