Location : Dahlgren, VA

Clearance Requirement : Top Secret

Employment Type : Full-time

Certification Requirement : IAT Level III (per DoD 8570.01-M requirements)

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Senior Systems Engineer (Network) with expertise in the design, implementation, and management of LAN / WAN corporate environments. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, TCP / IP, and VoIP technologies, and hands-on experience with routers, switches, fiber optics, firewalls, and cable plant designs. This role requires both technical leadership and hands-on engineering expertise to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable network infrastructure in support of Department of Defense (DoD) missions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of LAN / WAN environments for enterprise-scale systems.
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain Cisco and Juniper networking equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Apply expertise in TCP / IP, VoIP, and advanced networking protocols to support mission-critical communications.
  • Oversee network infrastructure projects involving fiber optics, cabling, and cable plant design.
  • Conduct performance analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization of network systems.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD and cybersecurity standards, including IAT Level III requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and oversight to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
  • Develop documentation, engineering diagrams, and operational procedures using industry standards.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, Government representatives, and program management to meet technical, schedule, and cost objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Six (6) years of professional work and leadership experience in LAN / WAN systems engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with :
  • Cisco and Juniper networking platforms
  • Routers, switches, and firewalls
  • TCP / IP and VoIP technologies
  • Fiber optics and cable plant design
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructures.
  • Must be designated as IAT Level III (per DoD 8570.01-M).
  • Must hold or be able to obtain / maintain a Top Secret clearance.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems, Network Engineering, or related field.
  • Advanced networking certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE, or equivalent.
  • Experience working on DoD or Navy enterprise networks.
  • Strong technical documentation and systems integration skills.
