JOB TITLE : Texturing Overhauler / Doff Technician

REPORTS TO : Texturing Engineer Manager

PURPOSE :

To safely and efficiently overhaul a texturing machine, making sure the machine is safe to run, perform preventative maintenance and correct mechanical issues. To safely and efficiently troubleshoot texturing machine automatic doffing issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Machine Overhaul including but not limited to :

Lock Out / Tag Out Machine

  • Work with bearings, shafts, gearboxes, belts and chains
  • Blow down, wipe-up and clean-up motor cabinets
  • Inspect and correct Aspirator issues
  • Check Oiling System
  • Check all guards, shields, safety grates and doors
  • Clean heaters and cooling tracks
  • Daily Maintenance of machines
  • SKILL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Ability to work safely
  • Ability to read and write and follow directions
  • Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to troubleshoot machines
  • Ability to diagnose and correct breakdowns
  • Ability to use maintenance tools
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Good communication skills
  • MACHINES, TOOLS, MATERIALS, AND EQUIPMENT :

    Texturing machine, mechanical tools, ladders, oil / grease,

    AUTHORIZED TRAINING TIME : 12-16 Weeks

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : FREQUENCY, AMOUNT, OR DESCRIPTION

  • Standing :
  • Ability to stand while performing maintenance on texturing machines

  • Moving
  • Move freely throughout the texturing department

  • Lifting :
  • Ability to lift parts / carry tools up to 15 pounds

    90% of day

  • Push
  • Push a tool box throughout the texturing department

    50% of day

  • Reach :
  • Ability to reach machine parts above head.

    25% of day

  • Reach :
  • Ability to lift 50-75 pounds as a team of 3

    5% of day

  • Bending :
  • Ability to bend to ground level, sometimes working on equipment below catwalk level

    50% of day

  • Climbing
  • The ability to climb and descend stationary ladders

    25% of day

  • Climbing
  • The ability to climb and descend step ladders

    25% of day

  • Walking
  • Ability to walk through the plant to get to work station, meeting rooms, break area, and to perform audits.

    10% of day

  • Environment :
  • Ability to work around polyester, nylon and acetate

    100% of day

  • Environment :
  • Ability to work in a conditioned indoor environment where temperature varies with the weather.

    11) Environment :

    Ability to follow defined break schedule

  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment around powered material handling vehicles and moving mechanical parts.
