We are currently accepting applications for two Materials and Warehouse Supervisors in our new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Milton, WI , conveniently located north of Janesville. These are salaried positions, working a base schedule of 7am-7pm, 3-4 days a week (week 1 : Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, week 2 : Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday), and reporting to the Production Manager.

JOB SUMMARY : The Materials and Warehouse Supervisor oversees daily operations in the warehouse and transload facility, ensuring efficient inventory management, safe and timely shipping / receiving, and execution of the supply chain plan. This role leads, coaches, and develops staff, drives continuous improvement, and collaborates closely with other departments to support plant operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plant Materials Planner
Ensure accurate inventory for all materials throughout the plant.Conduct daily inventory adjustments and complete investigations and follow-ups as needed.
Report weekly and monthly inventory KPI’s.Manage all bulk ingredientsExecute purchasing within CQC’s material / vendor approval processes
Coordinate, plan, and execute Inter-site Transfers (IST)Resolve any quality or service issues with suppliers as neededTravel to CQC facilities, training, off-site warehouse, and / or supplier visitsWarehouse & Transload Supervisor
Plan, assign and assist with all Transloading activities :Manages railcars and schedules full / empty cars with railroad companySupports railroad company during onsite pickup / dropoff including enforcement of blue flag rulesCoordinates unloading of sugar and oil rail carsDirects loading of sugar / oil trucks transferring to other facilitiesCoordinates transfers from Transload to Plant for sugar / oilPerform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws for all direct reports. Responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing work, coaching, appraising performance, training, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.Responsible for the overall safety of employees through training programs, plant security and equipment safety.Responsible for improving working conditions, throughput, morale, quality of product, and shipping and receiving efficiencies.Responsible for the safety and productivity of people
Responsible for the cleanliness of all warehouses, non-stock, and other storage areasInspect shipments to verify that all items are within customer specifications using pre-determined quality parameters.Responsible for the accurracy of all paperwork and shipping documents
Interprets company policies and regulations to administer coaching, corrective action and training through the certification processCoordinating, monitoring, and tracking all training with employees.
Responsible for the mentoring, training, and monitoring of all direct reports to include spot checking all paperwork.Leverage advanced capabilities of the Warehouse Management System (WMS), CRM, and ERP platforms to optimize order scheduling for operations.Coordinate activities between shifts and ensure timely shipmentsLooking 48 to 72 hours into the schedule of shipments inbound / outbound
Assist with SOP development and process improvement where applicable.Updating once per year the SOP’s you are assigned and sending out pertinent FYI’s associated with any changes.
Work with Procurement, Logistics, R&D, and Customer Service to ensure ingredients and finished products are received and shipped as scheduledCoordinate recycling and waste removal.Manage pallet recycling program.
Manage all warehousesResponsible for inventory cycle counts, mid-year inventory counts, and year-end inventory counts .Manage the drop-trailer program and pre-loadsManage OA, Hold, and other dispositioned inventory by identifying usage and coordinating with Quality Department to use in a timely mannerResponsibility to the Crew.Responsible for all payroll and time / attendance activities.
Responsible for all personnel or performance issues, including performance reviews.Responsible for monthly crew schedule for warehouse staffFacilitate communication / coordination between internal customer groups and external carrier contacts to ensure attainment of service level objectives. Focus efforts on timely pick-up / delivery and overall stakeholder satisfaction.Perform all necessary transactions within Warehouse Management System (WMS) / ERP to complete and / or close an order either inbound or outbound.Monitor data flow between Warehouse Management System (WMS) / ERP, and other systems to ensure synchronization of warehouse and transportation information. Ensure trucking carriers are providing accurate and timely information. Elevate issues as necessary.Identify gaps in capabilities / capacity and provide options and / or solutions. Manage all order change activity within Warehouse Management System (WMS). Communicate with stakeholders as necessary.Provide responsive distribution support for short lead time orders, expedited shipments, shipping mode conversions, and other activities as necessary.Monitor carrier equipment pools at all facilities to ensure adequate supplies of empty trailers for shipping.Interact as necessary with Logistics and Customer Service regarding carrier performance issues, capacity concerns, and service requirements.Complete investigations into shipping and receiving errors.Operate material handling equipment in a safe manner and drive personal vehicle for work as needed.General
Operate heavy equipment including forklifts, slip sheeters, rail car movers, and similar equipmentPerform all tasks assigned while following all company, safety, and quality policies and proceduresResponsible for completing all tasks passed down from management in a timely manner or addressed before the end of the current work cycle.
Communicate day to day activities and follow-up on daily correspondencesMonitoring the inbound and outbound schedule for any changes that may need to be made and making those changes as needed.
Lead Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts within department(s)Travel to training, other CQC facilities, and / or complete transfers of materials as needed using Company van.Responsible for ensuring Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and all other cleaning tasks are managed and completed as requiredERP Power User and trainerRequires extensive use of the computer to include Excel Spreadsheets, Word, Warehouse Management System, ERP System, Internet Applications / ProgramsMaintain regular attendance at work.Will be issued a cell phone for off hours business needs.QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.Minimum 2 years of related shipping and receiving experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.Previous leadership experience is required.Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookKnowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems, Inventory Control Systems, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) would be helpfulMust have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving recordSKILLS AND ABILITIES :
