Job Description :
Program parts and tools from customer provided or internally created models and drawings. You will be responsible for the creation and revision of CNC programs for turning centers, various multi-axis, horizontal and vertical machines, mills and equipment. You will also play a supporting role with current production and prototype projects while maintaining quality and safety standards. The goal for this role will be to support our corporate commitment to improve all products and processes though prevention rather than detection.
Position Responsibilities :
- Set up and program multi-axis CNC mills and lathes with live tooling to manufacture precision parts.
- Create new programs utilizing Mastercam CAD / CAM software to successfully machine parts within part print tolerances.
- Create set-up sheets and tool lists for efficient machine operations.
- Work with engineers, machinists and operators during test runs of programs to ensure the process is capable and meets specifications.
- Inspect parts using various quality inspection tools to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and engineering specifications.
- Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and machine parameters for efficient production.
- Monitor machine performance and adjust settings as needed for quality control.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and machinery issues.
- Help assist with ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
- Lead other machinists and operators to ensure efficient and high-quality production.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts, identifying areas for process optimization and waste reduction.
Qualifications and Skills :
Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required.Experience with live tooling (preferred).Must have strong attention to detail.Experience with CAD / CAM software (Mastercam preferred).Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems that arise.Strong understanding of machining principles and tool selection.Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential.Experience in leading and mentoring other machinists and operators.Proficient in the use of CNC software and other relevant software applications.Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.Should have a positive and professional attitude.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Additional Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plusRelevant certifications, such as CNC Machinist Certification, are a plusPhysical Requirements :
