Position Title : Licensing & Environmental Manager – Nuclear Development

Location : Richland, WA (Hybrid – up to 75% remote)- Must be near Richland WA or able to get to plant 25% of the time on own dime.

Type : Long-Term Contract (renewable annually; potential pay increases)

Pay Range : $70.00 – $92.50 / hour

Schedule : 4x10s (Monday–Thursday)

Citizenship : U.S. Citizenship required

Per Diem : Lodging $110 / night + M&IE $80 / day = $190 / day (up to $69,350 tax-free annually)

Benefits : State-mandated sick leave (up to 6.5 days / year), health, dental, vision, and coverage

Position Overview

Seeking a Licensing & Environmental Manager to support strategic initiatives for new nuclear development . This role provides technical leadership and expert counsel on licensing, environmental compliance, and regulatory strategy to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations across growing nuclear projects.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of NRC licensing, NEPA environmental requirements, and nuclear regulatory policy — along with the ability to advise executives, manage high-level agency interactions, and lead multidisciplinary teams through complex regulatory processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise Energy Services & Development (ES&D) leadership on nuclear licensing and environmental compliance matters.
  • Develop and execute strategies to meet licensing and environmental requirements for new nuclear projects.
  • Represent client in regulatory interactions, industry workgroups, and public meetings.
  • Interpret and communicate changes to licensing and environmental regulations to leadership and project teams.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve licensing and regulatory issues.
  • Conduct and / or oversee field and site visits as needed to support environmental reviews.
  • Stay current on emerging nuclear policies, environmental legislation, and NRC / DOE guidance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in a nuclear power plant environment within Licensing or Environmental functions.
  • 5+ years in a supervisory or management capacity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interface with senior executives and regulatory agencies.
  • Proven ability to manage projects in high-stakes, time-sensitive, and compliance-driven settings.
  • Expert knowledge of NRC regulations, environmental permitting, and nuclear licensing frameworks.
  • Qualifications

  • SRO / RO License or Certification.
  • Prior experience as a Licensing or Environmental Manager at a commercial nuclear power plant.
  • Background in self-assessment, benchmarking, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Skilled in analyzing regulatory impacts, conducting risk assessments, and implementing strategic corrective actions.
