Schedule : Full-Time, Exempt.(Hybrid – 3 days in office, 2 days remote)

Reports To : Information Systems Security Manager

Travel : Occasional travel to New York, NY, and data center locations

Overview

A private family office based in Princeton, NJ is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Systems Engineer to join its team of 22 professionals that support the firm. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining the firm’s Windows-based systems, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity environment.

This is a hands-on position requiring strong technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable managing backend systems and supporting end-users in a fast-paced, collaborative, and security-conscious environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain Windows-based infrastructure and hybrid environments (Azure AD / Entra ID)

Support and enhance virtualization platforms (VMware) and network systems (Cisco switches, firewalls)

Implement and maintain cybersecurity best practices across endpoints, cloud services, and internal systems

Manage backups, disaster recovery, and system monitoring for uptime and performance

Provide advanced troubleshooting and user support for desktops, messaging, and VoIP systems

Collaborate with leadership and IT peers to evaluate and integrate new technologies

Maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure, processes, and configurations

Participate in on-call rotation and off-hours maintenance as needed

Qualifications

7 years of hands-on experience in systems engineering or IT infrastructure support

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technologyor a related field preferred

Expertise with Windows Server 2022, Windows 11, Azure AD / Entra ID, and hybrid Microsoft environments

Strong knowledge of VMware virtualization, Cisco networking, and firewall administration

Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and Zero Trust principles

Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or collaboratively

Relevant IT certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, VMware) preferred
