Position Summary
The Project Controls Manager will play a key role in overseeing financial performance and administrative processes across multiple telecom projects. This individual will manage budgets, forecasts, and project reporting, while driving efficiency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle. This is a hands-on role that requires collaboration with project managers, accounting, and operations teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, manage, and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost control systems.Create and update detailed project financial reports, dashboards, and progress summaries.Leverage Microsoft Excel to build models, analyze data trends, and track key project metrics.Oversee project administration, scheduling, documentation, and change order management.Collaborate with project managers and leadership to monitor progress and resolve variances.Analyze project data to identify cost savings, process gaps, and performance trends.Implement and standardize project control processes across departments.Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and reporting standards.Provide ad hoc data analysis and insights to support executive decision-making.Utilize or help implement SiteTracker for project tracking, reporting, and workflow optimization (experience strongly preferred).Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).5+ years of experience in project controls, cost management, or related functions—preferably in telecommunications, utilities, or construction.Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, macros, and visual dashboards). Tableau and Power BI (major plus)Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial variance analysis.Experience with SiteTracker is a major plus; other project management or ERP tools also valued.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Comfortable in a small-company, team-oriented, hands-on environment.Position Details
