Marketing Intern
Job Title : Marketing Intern
Reports to : Director of Operations + Marketing
Internship Summary
The Marketing Intern will support Foster + Heart’s Director of Operations & Marketing in carrying out creative strategies to grow brand awareness, engagement, and community outreach. This role provides hands-on experience in digital marketing, graphic design, photography / videography, podcast production, social media management, and event support. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with strong communication skills, creativity, and a passion for learning.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the writing, design, production, and coordination of marketing materials.
Support content creation for social media, website, newsletters, photography, videography, and podcast projects.
Help with event coordination and promotions as needed.
Maintain clear and professional communication with staff, volunteers, and community partners.
Attend 1–2 in-person meetings weekly with the Director of Operations & Marketing (remaining hours can be remote).
Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or related field preferred).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Creative mindset with attention to detail.
Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
Must pass a criminal background check that meets state requirements.
Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance (if travel for duties is required).
Typical Physical Requirements
Regularly required to communicate clearly with staff, volunteers, and partners in person, over the phone, and through digital platforms.
Ability to use a computer, camera, and related office / creative equipment for extended periods.
Work Environment
Flexible hybrid schedule : combination of remote work and occasional in-person meetings / events.
Collaborative nonprofit environment with opportunities to contribute ideas and take ownership of creative projects.
