Job Summary
The Bus Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting students to and from school, as well as to and from school-related events and activities. This role requires adherence to all transportation safety regulations and policies while providing a positive and supportive environment for students during their commute.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe Transportation : Operate school buses in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Route Management : Follow designated routes and schedules for student pick-up and drop-off, ensuring timely arrival at all destinations.
- Student Supervision : Monitor student behavior while on the bus, ensuring a safe and respectful environment. Address any issues that arise in a calm and professional manner.
- Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections : Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, ensuring that all safety equipment is functional and that the vehicle is in good working condition.
- Communication : Maintain open lines of communication with the Transportation Manager, reporting any issues with the bus, routes, or student behavior promptly.
- Emergency Preparedness : Be prepared to handle emergencies and follow established protocols for student safety, including conducting safety drills as required.
- Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records of student ridership, incidents, and any other relevant transportation documentation.
- Collaboration with School Staff : Work collaboratively with school staff and administrators to support transportation needs for school events and activities.
- Professional Development : Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance driving skills and knowledge of safety practices.

Truck Driving and Defensive Driving skillsExcellent communication and customer service skillsCDL Class B licenseAbility to work independently and remotelyExperience in the education industry is a plusHigh School diploma or equivalentExperience working with children is beneficial
