Position Overview
Responsible for supporting the financial affairs of the business unit, including :
- Assist with the monthly close process
- Prepare monthly P / (L) flash / close results, perform variance analysis (versus plan / prior)
- Support the development of the annual financial plan
- Preparation of financial analyses of key sales / marketing initiatives to provide financial guidance for various business decisions
- Analyze programs and pricing for all customers
- Support new product development through sales / cost quotes and pro-forma analysis
- Support capital budget and projects as needed
- Provide plant or supply chain analysis on an ad hoc basis to support plant controllers and internal operations management decisions
Specific Responsibilities
Assists in implementing best practices for the business segment with regard to financial policies and procedures.Supports the SBU financial function including accounting, budget, forecasting / planning, operating plans, month-end / year-end closing, and etc.Assures on-time reporting to Newell Brands corporate (e.g. Ops Deck).Develops good interactive working relationship with Shared Services.Support Sales, R&D, and Customer Development department in order to grow revenue and margin.Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.Other duties as assignedKey Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, with a concentration in accounting or finance2-5 years job related experience overallExperience in a manufacturing company with strong accounting, costing and financial skillsStrong working knowledge of GAAPStrong communication, with all levels of the organizationCompletes task with a sense of urgencyGood listening, teamwork, and attention to detailReliable with patience and professionalismUse of Microsoft outlook and MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPointPreferred Qualifications
