Job Description
Plant Equipment Maintenance Specialist
Are you the go-to problem solver who can read a ladder diagram, size conduit to the NEC, and coach a new tech through a motor swap—all in the same day? Join a company that’s been innovating since 1924 and now operates across the U.S., Belgium, Singapore, Germany, and China. At Teknor Apex, a privately held, family-led custom compounder, teamwork powers everything we do.
Your impact
Our production lines depend on you to prevent downtime, fix issues fast, and document everything clearly. Imagine stepping into a challenge : a conveyor stops, an Allen‑Bradley drive throws a fault, and a PM is due on a critical mixer. You triage with electrical test gear, trace the fault in the ladder logic, complete the PM in CMMS, and leave the area cleaner than you found it—mission accomplished.
Key responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair mechanical / electrical equipment with minimal oversight.
- Adhere to all safety protocols; champion clean, organized work areas.
- Diagnose circuits and equipment using electrical test instruments.
- Route and install conduit, wire, breakers, fuses, starters, and motors to National Electrical Code specifications.
- Troubleshoot AC / DC motors and drives; understand PLC operations and ladder logic.
- Execute PMs; record work in the CMMS.
- Interpret electrical schematics, manuals, and tech bulletins.
- Operate forklift, scissor lift, and JLG.
- Plan, organize, and complete tasks on time; support short-notice overtime.
- Train entry-level team members; occasionally operate a company truck / vehicle (valid driver’s license required).
