Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring recent EPIC experience and multiple advanced certifications.
Responsibilities
Position is based in a large, academic teaching hospital Emergency DepartmentPatient population includes a wide range of emergency cases typical of a high-acuity ED12-hour rotating shifts including evenings and nightsSchedule requires a minimum of every other weekend with flexibility to adjust for unit and patient needsTravelers must work at least 2 out of 4 major holidays : Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's DayNo block scheduling permittedBi-weekly orientation occurs on MondaysEPIC EMR is used and recent experience (within 2 years) is mandatoryPrimary responsibilities include providing comprehensive emergency nursing care in a busy, high-acuity EDMust explain any employment gaps over 90 daysCandidate must have reliable personal or rental transportation, as public transportation is not accessible in the areaVehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April due to weather conditionsHoliday coverage is mandatory as specified by the department requirementsRequirements
Active VT or compact state RN license required; willingness to obtain VT license promptly if neededCurrent certifications required : BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC, NIHSSTNCC proof required prior to startMinimum of 2 years of Emergency Room RN experience requiredLarge facility (500+ beds) and teaching hospital experience is requiredPrior travel nursing experience is required unless candidate has experience at more than one ER and in large teaching facilitiesRecent EPIC charting experience within the past 2 years is requiredBenefits
