Position Details :

Position Title : ServiceNow Developer

Location : Montgomery, AL

Job Type : Long term contract

Work Mode : 100% onsite

Pay Rate Range : $48.00 - $53.00 an hour

Interview Mode : 1-2 rounds, onsite interview required for local candidates ( LOCAL CANDIDATES HIGHLY PREFERRED )

Job Description : A state agency in Montgomery, AL is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer to support its Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES) modernization initiative. This role focuses on designing, developing, configuring, and maintaining ServiceNow applications that streamline IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and improve service delivery across the organization.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on ServiceNow professional who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments and enjoys creating scalable, automated solutions that drive efficiency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and configure ServiceNow ITSM applications supporting incident, problem, change, release, and knowledge management.
  • Build and maintain workflows, automations, and integrations using tools such as Flow Designer and IntegrationHub .
  • Troubleshoot and resolve ServiceNow platform issues, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with module contractors, product owners, and enterprise teams to align solutions with MES program goals.
  • Participate in testing, code reviews, and deployment activities , ensuring adherence to standards and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including workflows, configuration changes, and solution designs.
  • Apply ITIL principles to improve service processes and governance across MES systems.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts for ServiceNow upgrades and module enhancements.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining ServiceNow ITSM applications.
  • Proficiency with ServiceNow forms, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, and catalog items .
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes and IT Service Management best practices .
  • Experience implementing and integrating ServiceNow workflows across multiple modules.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification.
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS - ITSM) certification.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology , or equivalent experience (10+ years in lieu of degree).
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on state or federal IT modernization or Medicaid-related projects .
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and custom application development .
  • Prior experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Strong documentation skills for solution design and configuration management.
  • Advanced certifications such as ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) , ITIL 4 Foundation , or PMI-ACP / PSM .
