Job Purpose :
The Procurement Specialist will own and manage the procurement process for raw materials, with a strong focus on label and packaging components (labels, shrink sleeves, films) , as well as production supplies. Previous experience in label or packaging procurement is highly preferred, as this role requires industry-specific knowledge to effectively partner with suppliers, manage costs, and support production needs. This individual collaborates with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure cost-effective sourcing, reliable supply, and quality standards that support Inovar’s growth and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities :
Source and purchase packaging materials and components based on production forecasts and inventory needsBuild and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing, lead times, and termsEvaluate supplier performance and collaborate on quality improvementsPartner with Sales, Planning, Quality, and Operations to align supply strategy with business needsTrack and report purchase order status, costs, delivery performance, and material usageManage inventory levels and support supplier-managed inventory (SMI) or consignment modelsAnalyze cost data and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencyMaintain accurate purchasing records in ERP / Procurement systemsEnsure compliance with quality, safety, regulatory, and sustainability standardsSupport continuous improvement initiatives in the supply chain and sourcing processQualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)2+ years of procurement or sourcing experience, preferably in packaging, printing, or manufacturingStrong negotiation skills and relationship-building expertiseProficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentDetail-oriented with a focus on quality and cost controlFamiliarity with packaging materials (films, adhesives, inks, labels) is a plusEqual Employment Opportunity Statement
