We are currently seeking a VAR Melter at our Bakers facility in Monroe, NC. As a Melter, you are an integral part of a successful team responsible for manufacturing titanium electrodes primarily used in the aerospace industry.

During the melting process, you will set up and operate furnaces for production of various Titanium and Titanium alloy ingots, while also working in a controlled environment and rotating to the production floor every few hours to do general maintenance activities. You will clean and prepare furnaces, perform a variety of preoperative and set up duties including loading of electrodes, closing / evacuation of the furnace, and inspect equipment following standard operating procedures. To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, dependability, analytical thinking, troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and flexibility in a changing environment.

Additional Responsibilities :

• Perform various duties of the melt operation
• At the completion of the melt, perform all duties required to extract the electrode and clean the furnace
• Enter any unusual or special occurrences observed and immediately notify proper personnel as circumstances indicate.
• Perform all operating and safety checks
• Continuously monitor controls and gauges during operation
• Maintain accurate, complete, and legible logs, records, and charts
• Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts and cranes
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
